Of Sharing, Consistency, Discipline and Impacting Others- Day 15 of the #streaksoflightdaily challenge

of sharing, consistency and discipline. What the #streaksoflightdaily challenge is teaching me.

So today happens to be the 15th day of a 30-day challenge that I started on February 8th on Instagram. It is basically a challenge I gave myself to share my thoughts around a word, a concept or even a phrase daily on my Instagram page. I then go ahead and share it to my Facebook friends and to the Streaks of Light Facebook page.

So today being the half-way mark, I decided to remind myself why I started in the first place. I am also reflecting on what I am gaining in the process and just being grateful for this challenge. (you can see the posts by searching #streaksoflightdaily on Facebook or Insta.)

Day 15: You guys, I am halfway through my #30daychallenge and I am excited. You see one of the things I wanted to learn through the #streaksoflightdaily posts is consistency. I am naturally scatter-brained and I also tend to be very restless. It is not exactly the best combination for doing one thing consistently. That takes discipline. If I could learn discipline in this one area, I know it will rub off to the other areas of my life. It is a fact that to succeed in anything you have to take consistent action. My desire for this year has to inspire others by sharing more, listening more and collaborating more. (you can see the other things I’m working on this year on streaksoflight.com/this-year) So, through this challenge, I am learning to be disciplined and to be consistent. I have actually been able to post almost every day for 15 days (I skipped a few, should be on day 18 today?) and that is no mean feat for me. I don’t know who my posts are inspiring every day but I know they are inspiring someone. I don’t care if only one person gains something from this challenge, there is power in one. I’m thankful that I am challenging myself and I am learning what it means to be consistent and becoming more disciplined in the process. Remember, discipline in one area trickles to discipline in other areas of your life. #day15 #streaksoflight #hope #impact #changesomeoneslifetoday #bethechangeyouwanttosee #challengeyourself #sharingiscaring

My desire for this year is to inspire others by sharing more, listening more and collaborating more.

This challenge is allowing me to consciously do more of these things every day. It is also getting me out of my comfort zone as sharing every day is not something I would typically do.

As I said in my Instagram post, I don’t know who my posts are inspiring every day. What I know is that they are inspiring someone. If only one person gains something from this challenge, that will be good enough for me. I believe there is power in ONE.

I’m thankful that I am challenging myself and I am learning what it means to be consistent and becoming more disciplined in the process.

Remember, discipline in one area of your life trickles down to all the other areas of your life.

So if self-discipline was the only thing I would gain through this challenge that will be enough.

But because my inbox is already full of testimonies of people being inspired by my posts, I know it is more than that. And for that reason, I’m going to keep sharing.

My hope is that you can start sharing of yourself too.

You have something in you that the rest of the world needs. Share it. You never know how much impact you can have on others until you try.

Don’t wait to have 1,000 people following you for you to feel like you can inspire others. Just 1 is enough. Inspire one person and they might inspire thousands because of you.

My challenge to you

Purpose to impact one person’s life every day. It does not have to be in one specific place. It can be anywhere. On the road, at work, at church, at home, on social media… wherever you are. You have a chance to impact the world.

Can you imagine, if you impact just one life every day, you would have impacted 365 lives in one year? Think about it.

How are you impacting someone’s life today?

Sending you love and light,

Debbie – Streaks of Light.
